A temporary exhibit is being planned at the Fort Smith Museum of History entitled, On the Air – 50 years of Broadcasting in Fort Smith, 1922-1972. The exhibit will be on display from August 16, 2012 through the end of the year. Exhibit planners are seeking to borrow radio and television memorabilia, photos, and equipment. The exhibit will be in the museum’s Boyd Gallery and will feature microphones, antique radios, a range of era televisions, media personality photos, mock radio control room, mock television studio, and the 1320 Club. Other display themes within the exhibit will include 1920’s & 30’s, World War II, the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s.
